Another installment from the beloved country of Spain. I must admit, I'm having one heck of a good time over here. This is pretty sappy stuff, though, so schmaltz warning from the get-go. (What can I say? Situations like this make me ooze sap. Like a tree. A big, old, maple or somesuch.) You know you all love it - that's why you keep coming back and suffering through my crappy sappy posts. (Same disclaimer as last time - BlueDev, Cedarbird, one w...
Another excerpt from my travel journal, and I think you'll like this one – the two of you who bother to stop by and read them at all lately . . .
(Hey Cedarbird - and BlueDev, too, if you ever stop by anymore - let's keep this to ourselves. No need for the parents to know, if you know what I mean.)
So I've had a bit of time to go over the new JU, and, to be completely honest, I don't like it. Not really at all. I've played with all the new functions, and I find it to be unwieldy and I really just preferred the old version. Let's be honest, though - JU1 is gone forever and that's okay. I can get over it and used to the poo brown color, I guess. (Whatever happened to the green in the first screen shots we saw? Much better than poo brown.) I have one big ...
All right, kiddies. Time for a break from regaling you with tales from Spain, and back to the mire with more President Bush quotes! (Don't worry, my faithful Spain-tales readers - yeah, all two of you - they'll be back later today with a very, very juicy episode. Yay yay yay.) ------------------- "The senator has got to understand if he's going to have - he can't have it both ways. He can't take the high horse and then claim the low road." --About Senator Jo...
Here for your reading “enjoyment” (and I use that word in the loosest sense possible) is another excerpt from my journal of the past few days. I don't know what else to write. I've got ideas that I'd love to get onto my blog, but it seems that all I really want to write about is Tarragona, the city that has captured my heart. Hope you all can deal with a blog full of this crap for the next five months. -- 13 Feb 2008. 6:03 pm. Finally. I was able to attend...
(What does that sub-title have to do with anything? Absolutely nothing. And that's why I like it.) Well, I'm finally here. I'm in Spain. It's a strange feeling – this is something I always dreamed about doing, but I never really expected it to happen. Especially after having as many problems as I had with the visa, flight, and everything, it's almost like the whole world was conspiring to keep me from getting here – but I made it! I don't really know how to write about how I feel h...
After a lot of rigmarole and some superior hoop-jumping, everything is finally in place for my studies in Spain - more or less. I had to move my flight - I was supposed to leave yesterday, but the visa would not have arrived in time. I had to bug the visa department of the Spanish Consulate incessantly. I'm going to miss the first week of school, so I'll be a bit behind when I get there. But all this is okay. All these are hurdles that I'm willing to jump to study in Spain. An...
Recently I posted an article full of Bush "aphorisms" that came from a calendar my mother had given me for Christmas. Since then, there have been more hilarious and sad quotes from our Commander-in-Chief. So I thought I'd share some more on a slow Sunday morning . . . "One year ago today, the time for excuse-making has come to an end." --Washington, D.C., January 21 2003 "See, one of the interesting things in the Oval Office -- I love to bring people into the Oval Office -- ri...
I've been using Stardock services for over two years now, as a blogger on JoeUser and having used the free version of Object Dock for most of that time. For Christmas, however, my brother BlueDev bought me OD+, and I've been amazed by what it can do in comparison with the free version. It's like night and day. So the other day I went and bought GalCiv and GalCiv II almost out of loyalty rather than out of real desire to play the game - if only to show Stardock some support for all th...
It seems as though Fred Thompson has given up his bid for the White House, bowing out earlier this afternoon after a tough start to the primary season. Thompson, while being the favorite of quite a few of the conservative bloggers on this site, was never a very brightly shining star in the field. Regrettably, he was usually given the short end of the shrift; granted, this was largely due to his long wait to enter the race. In the midst of a race that is far too full anyway, he just add...
(I can't believe this is my 201st article. No one read my 200th, which I thought was funny (except you, Maso. You're cool) but here's another funny one. Better get more comments, dammit.) Most of what I got for Christmas was not a surprise - they were either things I had asked for or obvious gifts. However, Mom gave me one present that was the funniest, most pleasant surprise of the whole morning (with the exception of BlueDev's purchase of Object Dock + for me - yay for tabbed docks...
I've been catching up on the archives from my new favorite webcomic, Least I Could Do , and I came across this gem. Think about it.
I was bored this evening, and pulled out my copy of the first season of Gilmore Girls . Man, I love that show. I've missed Lorelai and Rory. It's good to see them again. And I forgot just how much I have the hots for Alexis Bledel. (Not necessarily first season Rory, but I maintain.) I mean, I really have the hots for Alexis Bledel. It's those eyes, man. She's got such bright, glowing, penetrating blue eyes. I'm so in love, and I miss my show. Thank you, TV on DVD...
Ugh. I haven't gotten my visa yet, because of stupid complications with the school and the Christmas holiday. It's got me seriously stressed out - I can't sleep, I can't eat, I feel sick to my stomach all the time, and my quality of life isn't that great right now, consequently. And I'm going to feel this way until I get the visa, because everything is riding on that damned thing. If I don't have it, I'm screwed. I'll lose my scholarships, because I won't be going to school this semest...
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2Thess. 2:3 This is one of the best-known verses in the Bible to support the idea of the coming of the Antichrist, set to come shortly before the second coming of the big guy himself. Much speculation has been made by alarmists as to who this man may be (with people asserting that it may be Prince Chucky of Wales or Georgie Po...
