Self-deprecation is worth its weight in smoldering phoenix-ashes and baby unicorn tears.
or; the double standard-bearer continues to tirade.

"As for the one Mormon running for office, those that really believe in God will defeat him anyway, so don't worry about that. That's a temporary situation."

Very cute, Reverend Sharpton. Saying that, as a Mormon, Mitt Romney doesn't believe in God, and that God will somehow defeat him.

No, that's not bigoted at all.

Al Sharpton, who has fought so "hard" to defeat bigotry and discrimination - one of the strongest supporters of the ousting of Don Imus for his "racist" comments (never mind that the only reason Don Imus gets hired is to be a "shock-jock", and when he shocks, he gets fired) - is now spewing out his own brand of bigotry and discrimination.

Romney has been a gentleman about it (much better than Sharpton would be under similar circumstances), but has called the comment "terribly misguided".

"It shows that bigotry still exists in some corners," Romney said. "I thought it was a most unfortunate comment to make."

I'm sorry, but Sharpton needs to be taken off the airwaves already. Please.

(Link? How about CNN? Or would you like to see Sharpton's backpedaling on FOX? What a douchebag.)

This is not the first time for Sharpton, There is his HYMIETOWN remark... hymie being a real nasty NYC term for a money grubbing JEW.
on May 10, 2007

Maybe Sharpton can appear on Don Imus' radio show and do his mea culpas there?  Oh, wait....

{ evil sarcastic grin }

Sharpton is a tool, and I don't mean like Black and Decker or Craftsman.

I know it's not the first time for Sharpton. But what a douche.

Not that Sharpton isn't a chump, and not to correct MM, but I think you're mixing up Sharpton's remarks with those of his great friend Jesse Jackson.

Jesse was the one that was famous for the H-town remark.

on May 10, 2007
When will he resign? Where is the demands that he be fired? Where is the outrage ala Imus?

The silence is deafening. And in the end, Nothing will be done to Sharpton. Just as nothing was done to Jackson on his Hymietown slur.

There have been so many down right racist and bigoted remarks made by Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan and Malik Zulu Shabazz I tend to get confused. thank you for the corrections. But why is there never any outcry over these four men and there racism?, what do they all have in common? What motivates the Media to remain silent?

1st... the media haven't been too silent on this. it was reported widely.

2nd...jackson did make the hymietown remark. sharpton made comments that were reported in the media like "Diamond Merchants, Bloodsucking Jews, White Interlopers and Jew Bastards."

3rd...al sharpton NEVER apologizes. he didn't on the brawley case, and he was found guilty by a court of law for defamation et al...he didn't apologize for the duke case, or to the jewish people for the above comments...so i don't expect an apology here.

4th...while sharpton may be dead wrong, yet again, i don't think this is comparable to the imus thing. a big deal that was made in the rutgers thing was that these girls weren't public figures, but merely students...private citizens who weren't "celebrities" and therefore weren't "fair game" for media comments. mitt romney is a public figure.

5th...as far as him "offending" another religion and so forth,,,he is a preacher. and he's hardly the 1st preacher who has called other religions "false" religions. pat robertson has gone farther than this without missing a step. jerry falwell has made a career out of calling other faiths false. the falseness of other religions, even protestant sects that worship the same God that the Catholic's do is the catholic church's doctrine and a main point they raise early and often in any religious debate. (just ask lulapilgrim).

6th...but like with imus, if the sponsors pull their ads,,,al will be gone,,,if they don't, he'll stay...it's all about ratings and revenue.

Google Imus and Nappy headed Hos. Then Google Sharpton and "Mormon running for office, those that really believe in God will defeat him".

I think that speaks for itself on the level of reporting.

Of course it is.

Which is why Sharpton will stay on the air - nobody will blink.

Besides, Mormons aren't that big a chunk of the population, anyway . . . we can offend them all we want.
on May 10, 2007
You're just now figuring out that Sharpton is a bigot?
on May 10, 2007
SICK.

Every time this vile, fatassed, ignorant, and ill-coiffed man opens his mouth I am amazed that no one's put a bullet in his head.

Heh, that pretty much sums it up.

He's disgusting.

I agree partially, Sharpton not only defamed Romney {public figure, fair game} but the entire Mormon people, that's 100drds of thousands of private citizens minding their own business and not fair game.
