I've been asked by many friends over the last few months what exactly the name "San Chonino" means. I remember when I first started reading BlueDev's blog (being the stupid younger brother that I am) it took me forever to figure out what the name meant. So I thought I'd share the origins of the name. As some of you know, I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Mexico. That's where I learned Spanish and fell in love with the culture and the beautiful c...
I thought that I'd share the story of my ex-girlfriend here, just for fun. I'm not bitter; it happened too long ago for me to really care anymore, but it is a funny story, so here goes . . . I met her back in 2002, when I first got to college. We lived in the same dorm, and I fell for her super-fast. We had a lot of fun; I cared a lot about this girl, and she cared a lot about me. But things were great for the few months that we spent together. Then, I was getting ready to leave on my...
There's a radio station here in Utah that every other Wednesday has a feature called "Things That Must Go". It's a list of things that their listeners send in to gripe about, and they read them on the air. This morning, as I was studying (read: trying in vain to study) for today's final, I listened to their list, and was inspired. So here goes, my list of THINGS THAT MUST GO!!!!! -College textbook buyback hassles. You spend weeks trying to find a copy of the book before the semester s...
Here in Utah, we celebrate the 24th of July, in memory of when the first pioneers first wheeled their wagons into the Salt Lake valley. Consequently, this is a really big holiday around these parts - fireworks, parades, the whole kit 'n kaboodle. (That the right spelling, BlueDev? ) This year, I had an opportunity to be a clown in the parade here in my hometown of Bountiful. It's the second-biggest parade in the state, and it's pretty rockin'. I didn't think I was going to be getti...
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the website Albino Black Sheep , but I find it to be one of the funnier websites out there. Not all of the flash files there are great, but a good deal are worth the couple minutes it takes to download them. One nice thing, is unlike that gay "E Baum's World", this isn't pirated crap. This is stuff specifically made by designers on the site for the site. The newest toon, Newsbleat , is a total laugh. It's a flash take on a news program...
For those of you who may or may not remember, many months ago I started a list of THINGS THAT MUST GO, or things that have really gotten on my nerves lately. (For those who would like to read the first installment, follow the yellow brick link .) So here it is, everyone – a new installment of the ever-growing list, Things That Must Go! (You know, there is some sick pleasure in ranting, and it’s been quite a while since I’ve added to my list.) So here they are, the most recent things that...
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the consummate webcomic Toothpaste for Dinner . Those of you who have been victim to my spamming of your threads with ugly (but hilarious) drawings, they're usually from him (or his wife, the incomparable Natalie Dee ). But they've both taken to posting new videoblogs on YouTube, singlehandedly justifying the existence of that otherwise superfluous site. But by far the funniest ones that Drew has made are his "Dr. Synthesizer" bits, whe...
I know, I know, these articles never get me any replies, and I don't think anyone has the twisted sense of humor I know and love so well. But this video is just huggin' brilliant . Just make the damn pancake already.
Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show. The name itself is enough to strike fear into the hearts of internet surfers everywhere. I love you, Kiko, and your guests, Pereontorogist Lick Poop and Chief Itchy Balls. We're all juicy inside, after all. LOL
Now, I'll be the first one to congratulate Dateline's "To Catch a Predator" series and what they've done to incarcerate (see, Col., that's how you use that word) evil, vile men. I'm glad they do what they do, and I'm grateful for the group that they work with to bring those bastards to justice. However, I'm not above making fun of things or finding ridicule. So, without further ado, a very funny parody of those "To Catch a Predator" things, with a dog as the perp. Man, got...
A collection of my thoughts over the past few days, elucidated for mass consumption: I'm so beyond ready for this election season to be over. I'm tired of the scraggly old fart and the smooth, slippery young dude. I'm sick of the hairplugs and caribou Barbie. I'm done with the constant noise, noise, noise, noise. Call me the Presidential Politics Grinch, but I'm ready for it all to grind to a screeching halt. Once the election is over, I wonder how long before the ethers of the '...
A PARENTHETICAL, DIGRESSION-FILLED TALE I've worked really hard at maintaining a rather sizable list of nemeses over the years, and many of them are my enemies without even knowing it. (Funny story - my arch-nemesis and number one rival is actually Rachel Ray, and I don't even think I need to tell you why. However, if you want to know more, either e-mail me or ask in the comments. Maybe I'll divulge the story someday.) However, one who knows for a fact he's on my pooplist is Bill O'Re...
Hey! More Spain stories, this time of rich, thick and delicious retribution. Yummy. -- 16 May 2008. 1:01pm. Even though I get bloody sick and tired of Pervy McPervington, I've had a very successful week smashing some of the fanciful lies he has told me into shining little pieces. Maybe it's cruel of me, but I just enjoy that reddening in his face when I call his bluff. Now, granted, usually these are little things. Like early last week when he pro...
