SNL hasn't kept me entertained for years. It's been at best mildly amusing, at worst a maudlin attempt at weak humor that fell flat on its face. That is, until this current season. It helps that they've been given so much fodder by the imbeciles running for national office in this country, but they've really been having serious success at the political satire this season.
Tina Fey's Sarah Palin is on-the-spot incredible. And it's only gotten better.
But they both hit it out of the ballpark with the Vice-Presidential debate. It was perfect.
Hopefully you all have been able to catch it. If you don't want to stay up late and watch it on Saturday, catch the 'Thursday Weekend Update' episodes for the next two Thursdays (until my newly-beloved 30 Rock comes back). Here's an example of what we got from that last night.
While the actors in this skit don't look as much like their real counterparts as Tina Fey looks like crazy Sarah, they ape the mannerisms brilliantly. Perhaps I'm going to have to start watching SNL again. Maybe they've convinced me to come back.
