Self-deprecation is worth its weight in smoldering phoenix-ashes and baby unicorn tears.
or; my first cry for help from the Wincustomize guys.

I am a blogger on Stardock's JoeUser, and have been so for over a year now.

Because of my association with JoeUser and its cross-overs to other Stardock sites and products, I have become intrigued by the whole world of OS customization. (It helps that my brother, BlueDev, is into the whole thing, too.)

So I've got Object Dock, have gotten rid of my start menu, use Cursor XP for my mouse, and have recently installed Bootskins.

Now, the only thing left of my computer to make it look like a windows box is the "Welcome" screen at the start up, in between the bootskin and the desktop, as well as the "Windows is shutting down" screen at the end.

So my question is this - is there any Stardock product or any other way to replace those boring, generic Windows screens with something else, short of messing with actual config or sys files?

Appreciation in advance for your help.

You better believe you did.

Thanks once again, Bebi. Now I've got a wonderful matching bootskin, logon, and desktop. Fun times.
