Self-deprecation is worth its weight in smoldering phoenix-ashes and baby unicorn tears.
or; my facial hair, not any type of animal

So I start a new job in a week and a half. It's exciting and scary all at the same time. It will be good to have a change – my current job was just getting a bit on the tedious side, and I'm pumped to get to know a new job, new coworkers, etc.

But – I'm going to be a bank teller. I don't know how stringent other banks are, but this particular bank is rather firm in their dress policy. Consequently, I just finished buying a bunch of new dress slacks and shirts. (That's the exciting part. This is the first time, in any of the jobs I've had, that my first thought upon arriving home won't be “I need a freaking shower!”)

The downside – I had to shave off my goatee. *sob, sniff* This has been a traumatic experience – now I look like a sixteen year-old again. My facial hair was one of the few things that would make me look my age (I'm a real baby face).

Anyway, I'm really, really excited. But I am totally going to miss my goat. It's like an old friend has moved away . . . and I don't know when he's gonna get to move back.

At any rate, JU, is there anything that you do grooming-wise that you would miss getting to do again? Because I miss my goat, and I need some consolation.

Dude! You need to tell me the story behind this. I thought you really loved it? Must hear more.

Fortunately, my employer does not care about facial hair, so I get to keep my beard.  I do not miss shaving my face every day (I just trim it under the neck).

By it, I meant the job at the garden center.

Ah, let's take a moment in memory of your goat......seriously! I understand how you feel. I cut my hair, I think about a month ago, and I do like it but I do miss having longer hair. And now that I'm older I really miss having a thick, full head of hair. So....we can drown our sorrows in a smoothee or better a milk shake...here's to your goat and my hair and good luck with the new job!

I love clean shaven men. I don't go for all that facial hair even if you do have a baby face. So I say good riddance to the goat.

Yeah, I don't know any chicks who like goatees or beards or other facial hair (I'm sure there are some, I just don't know any).

I agree with Locamama. Good riddance.

Clean shaven is mo' sexy.

For a second there, I thought you had a pet I never knew of.

As for the goat that you ARE talking about, I am sure that you will get used to your new look in no time. Good luck with the new gig!

I used to have quite long hair. There are times when I miss it and now, thanks to male patent balding, it will only ever be a memory. Geez, I hope you feel better now 'cause I sure feel lousy But seriously, I have a goatee and have had for about 15 years. I've also got rather good mutton chops. I think I could lose the goatee and not feel naked but if I lost the 'chops, I know I'd feel nude.

I had chops for a while, but mostly I just keep good-sized sideburns down to the line of my jaw. I'd feel even worse if they had to go up to mid-ear or something like that . . . naked, just like you said.

Sorry I got you feelin' lousy, mate.

Getting them there . . . been busy.

Goats are cool and I must own a few before I die.

I have a coworker who lives out a bit in the boondocks, and he has a few animals. He had a goat for awhile, named #2. (It was so named because he got it at a rodeo, where good ol' #2 was involved in some sort of competition, was hurt, and so Jay - my coworker - took him home and raised him.) One day, #2 was attacked by some loose neighborhood dogs, and was ripped to pieces. If I seem sad missing my goat, little Cody, Jay's son, was more bummed about the heinous, grotesque death of #2. Rest In Peace, little guy.

Hey my lil baby face cutie!  Aww is it wrong I just have a strong urge to pinch your cheeks?  Personally I love the clean shaven baby faced men!  They are great!  So it sounds like a plus to me!  Though I do understand, I love my hair, and even if it was just a little shorter, I would miss it terribly!  So I shall take a moment to remember your 'lil goat.....*moment*.....done!

Good luck with the new job sweetie, not that you will need it, all the ladies there will be loving the baby faced you, I promise!
