or; how a friend had to go
When I started blogging on JU, I wrote an article early on about politics in which the conservative majority on this site absolutely crucified me. Granted, I wrote the article in a moment of passion, and didn't mean what I had said, but I was crucified just the same.
It scared me away from this site for a bit. I didn't blog here for a few weeks after that.
But when I finally did start blogging here with regularity, one of the first people I met and began to have a digital friendship with was Amanda Pearl. We hit off a good friendship quickly, and I became quite enamored with the girl.
When I finally figured out how to make links on my sidebar, she was the second person I knew I wanted to add, after my good brother, BlueDev, of course.
For a lot of my time here, we were always right next to each other in the User Ranking list. We always made jokes about how we were twins. It was kinda funny.
But then some cowardly person, trying to dig at Amanda, printed off one of her articles and sent it to her parents. Something about that article upset her parents, has caused some familial strife, and consequently, Amanda has removed all of her articles and has decided to stop blogging altogether.
That kinda bums me out. I hate to see things like that happen to friends of mine. Hope things are better, Amanda. Hope we can stay in touch.
And hope whatever coward did that gets what's coming to them. Karma's a bitch, after all . . .
(Moral learned from Manda's experience - don't post anything I wouldn't like my family to see . . .)
