or; how a friend had to go

When I started blogging on JU, I wrote an article early on about politics in which the conservative majority on this site absolutely crucified me. Granted, I wrote the article in a moment of passion, and didn't mean what I had said, but I was crucified just the same.

It scared me away from this site for a bit. I didn't blog here for a few weeks after that.

But when I finally did start blogging here with regularity, one of the first people I met and began to have a digital friendship with was Amanda Pearl. We hit off a good friendship quickly, and I became quite enamored with the girl.

When I finally figured out how to make links on my sidebar, she was the second person I knew I wanted to add, after my good brother, BlueDev, of course.

For a lot of my time here, we were always right next to each other in the User Ranking list. We always made jokes about how we were twins. It was kinda funny.

But then some cowardly person, trying to dig at Amanda, printed off one of her articles and sent it to her parents. Something about that article upset her parents, has caused some familial strife, and consequently, Amanda has removed all of her articles and has decided to stop blogging altogether.

That kinda bums me out. I hate to see things like that happen to friends of mine. Hope things are better, Amanda. Hope we can stay in touch.

And hope whatever coward did that gets what's coming to them. Karma's a bitch, after all . . .

(Moral learned from Manda's experience - don't post anything I wouldn't like my family to see . . .)

By the way, I'm just kidding about leaving. You'd have to piss me off a lot more than most to make me leave . . .

No kidding! Us liberals have to stand up and be real men about it, not pantywaists like that one!

I didn't know anything about this...I was still waiting for Amanda to come back from the vacation that her parents let her go on if she stayed on her "best behavior."

So I wonder which one of her articles was printed and sent to her family? I can't think of anything I've read that would give her parents any worries. But even still, she's in college, you think her parents would give her some breathing space by now. She's got a good head on her shoulders, they ought to see that and trust her.

I've written some pretty scary things on here, and you don't even want to see the ones I've kept PRIVATE! Sometimes I'm glad my parents are dead and/or brain dead. It's nice not to have anyone to answer to. And it's nice to be 30 and far from concerned about what anyone thinks.

Hugs for Amanda!

I feel that way at 23, but still . . . it sucks what happened to her.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know completely what happened at home, but she just doesn't want anything like that to happen again.
Makes good sense.

You MUST be responsible for everything, whip, that's why there's no fence-sitters anywhere around here concerning you . .

I don't mind being a scapegoat if it helps some people feel better about themselves, but they need to remember goats kick now and then, bwuahahaha.

I wrote something here ages ago saying I'd happily take the blame for everything if it meant people wouldn't be at each other's throats. The offer still stands...

Hey, now that's thinking, Maso. Sign me up for the scapegoat list, too!

Oh I might squeak, but it doesn't mean I'm clean. All it means is I'd need oiling up, which I might do tonight. My oil of choice is Absolut...
