i'M SITTING HERE AT MY DESK WITH MY MEDIA PLAYER ON RANDOM IN MY rUSH COLLECTION, PLAYING EVERY ALBUM THEY'VE EVER RELEASED AS WELL AS A COUPLE BOOTLEGS.

Rush is the greatest band in the world.

Because I said so.

Well, there is the "I said so", but there's also the fact that they consistently produce imminently listen able music that never disappoints, never is self-aggrandizing, and the fact that Neil Peart is the greatest drummer to ever live, Alex Lifeson oozes rocking style, and Geddy Lee has 1)one of the most distinct and recognizable voices in music, and 2)his bass riffs KICK ASS.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Sometimes I forget how incredible this band is. And then I listen again. And am promptly blown away at what they can achieve.

While I wouldn't go so far as to say they are the greatest band in the world, I have always liked Rush. I would have to vote Jethro Tull as the greatest.

That's understandable. I love Zep; few bands are as good as Zep. But for me, at least, it's Rush all the way home.

As far as rock bands go, I'm with Shovel on this one, mate. I've never been a Rush fan, sorry to say.

But it would be remiss of me to not say JC Ronikal is the greatest band in the world (have to stick in a free plug where ever I can, mate).
