Self-deprecation is worth its weight in smoldering phoenix-ashes and baby unicorn tears.
or; missing the old one (sometimes)
Published on August 7, 2006 By SanChonino In Work
So here I am, one week into my new job, and feeling a bit melancholy. I know, it's atypical for me, but sometimes I get that way. I miss my old co-workers. Some of them were great people who I'd known for a long time. (And there was that one girl who was still a minor . . . long story for another day.)

I do really like my new job, though. I have some really wonderful co-workers, and we have a lot of fun. But I miss the sun on my face, and the smell of the flowers. Now all I smell is the stench of money and the stanky people who walk through our doors sometimes. (Really people, is personal hygiene really such a problem?)

But at any rate, I'm doing good. Just needed to say that I miss my old job sometimes and that all that. Sorry this article sucked. A better one should be on the way soon. (Don't hate me Sally. I'd hate to make you mad, babe!)

In memoriam, a picture of the beautiful Holly, our newest tractor down at the Garden Center.

(Someone play taps please)

Hey baby!  I've SO missed you.  I am really glad to see you posting again.  You brighten up my days, how could I ever be mad with you?

I'm glad the job is going well, I knew you would do well at it.  What you are doing is a huge difference to the last job you had, you are making big changes, so of course you are going to be effected.  Just remember you made these changes for a reason, and it will all get easier I promise.  Chin up babe xxx

What makes a job great, or a dud, are the co-workers.  I hope you find many new friends at your new job.

Hey mate,

Glad you're enjoying the job. But I have to ask; does the new one pay better or provide opportunities to advance than the other? The reason I'm asking is because I've always wanted to work in a nursery and couldn't ever imagine myself giving up such a job to work in a bank.

I'm still keen to hear some of your tunes, by the way...

Dream of me like I do of you, hon . . .

As soon as I can find a decent recent picture of myself, I'll get it up here for you. Sally needs one, too. I've seen how cute she was as a kid, and I can only imagine now . . . I already know how gorgeous you are, Em.

To be honest . . . no to the first question, yes to the second. I just needed a change, as much as I loved the nursery. But if my bank schedule is the same come spring, I'm going to re-arrange my school schedule and work at the garden center tuesday and thursday and the bank the other days of the week. Full time school and two jobs . . . oh boy.
